Historical scope

Compare Platinum on the left with Gold on the right. This draft describes the February 2025 regulations, not current tour requirements. FIP reserved authority to approve alternative scoring. Do not extend this comparison to junior, mixed or national competitions without their regulations. Both columns use the same tournament-rulebook edition.

What changes for players

Golden point concentrates the decision into one rally; advantage permits repeated recoveries. This limits points after deuce, not match duration. The English playing rules’ Option 2 says the point wins the “match”; its game-scoring context indicates the game. This draft uses that contextual interpretation.
