Which conditions are compared?

This draft pairs the ICC men’s ODI conditions with the ICC men’s T20I conditions, both effective from October 2026. These are ICC format conditions incorporating the Laws, not two editions of the MCC Laws. Do not extend this comparison to women’s, junior or domestic cricket, or assume it supplies World Cup group-stage and knockout regulations.

Reading the comparison

Both formats give each side one main innings, and a bowler’s full-length quota is one fifth of it. Practically, the shorter T20I allocation compresses bowling decisions. Reduced matches require recalculated quotas and fielding periods; over-rate penalties can tighten the ordinary fielding limits. See bowling quotas and DLS.
